Transitions Gen S, in five colours
Gen S darkens in seconds and fades back faster than any previous generation, and filters blue-violet light by design — indoors in its clear state as well as outdoors. Beyond the classic Grey, Brown and Graphite Green, the range now includes two statement colours: Sapphire, a deep blue, and Ruby — the same optics, with a signature.
Colour availability depends on the lens material: the ultra-thin 1.74 index comes in Grey and Brown, and the order flow only shows you colours that exist for your combination. What you pick is what gets made.
Photochromic or dedicated sun lenses?
Transitions are the everyday answer: one pair, always adapted. Their known limit is the car — windscreens block the UV that triggers the tint, so they stay lighter behind the wheel. If you drive a lot, the classic move is a second pair with true tinted sun lenses: Xperio tints in grey-blue, brown, green or black, solid or gradient, with Crizal Sun UV. Ordered together, the second pair's lenses are 40% off.

How dark do Transitions lenses get?
Outdoors in full sun, Gen S reaches a proper sunglass-level tint in seconds. Indoors they return to fully clear — faster than any previous generation. The exact behaviour varies slightly with temperature and colour choice.
Do Transitions work in the car?
Only partially — windscreens block most of the UV that activates the tint, so the lenses stay lighter while driving. If you spend real time behind the wheel, pair them with a second pair of true prescription sun lenses; ordered together, the second pair's lenses are 40% off.
Can I get Transitions in my existing frames?
Yes — we cut Transitions lenses to the shape of the frames you already own, in your prescription, full-rim, semi-rimless or rimless. The frame type only sets the minimum lens material, which the order flow handles for you.
Which Transitions colour should I choose?
Grey is the neutral classic and keeps colours truest; Brown adds contrast and warmth, a favourite in bright cities; Graphite Green sits between them. Sapphire and Ruby are for wearers who want the tint to be part of the look. In 1.74 ultra-thin material, Grey and Brown are the available pair.
